Composer does not write PHP scripts, unless you knowingly code the
("filename.php") scripts by hand, same as you would with a text editor.
Since you say you don't even know what scripts are, you have nothing to
fret about.
Seems that your host supplies PHP - for those who use or need it - but
notified *all* of its clients that it was upgrading. I don't think you
need to worry about it. BTW, they should have done this upgrade a couple
of years ago. PHP4 as a development environment was abandoned in 2008.
PHP5 was actually released in 2004.
