Since neither of those applications has any way to 'compose' intricate
functions and routines, it would be nearly pointless to use them for a
PHP web site. My opinion, of course, but said with a lot of experience
writing PHP dynamic sites.

Were you referring to my mention of Bluefish?  It certainly is not a
"plain" text editor.  :-/

Huh? PHP only?  Neither the wiki nor the RapidWeaver pages mention PHP
at all. They do say it is a "templating system" for, I suppose, HTML
pages.
"Code-Free Creation"  ... "All without needing to know a line of code."
