Thanks Daniel, but I don't think I have quite the same behaviour you're describing. Like you, I open SM to Mail&Newsgroups, although I have set my preferences to restore the previous session when I open the browser. But no matter how many times I start the browser (or restart SM) it doesn't seem to have any knowledge of what's in my profile whether that be history, bookmarks or my personal toolbar. It looks I'm going to have to wait a few days for the 2.3 beta, as per Justin's suggestion and hope for the best.
