You might try the 2.3b3 release, at least on Linux the composer does the
things you mention. I haven't checked to see if the two critical address
book errors are fixed, maybe tomorrow.
I'm not 100% sure here, but yes please Test 2.3b3 asap. I think the
issue is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=664095 which
though we could not get into Gecko 6 (which is SeaMonkey 2.3) I took the
code locally for our builds, as we deemed the issue a serious enough
problem that we needed to.
