Ruining the stability, security, and/or install base of our favorite browser is basically that, yes. Ridding themselves of adherence to versioning is a lazy cop-out that is wrong on so many levels, affecting so many aspects of the Firefox install base and influence quotient, it is mind boggling. The continual trivialization by Mozilla staff just points to the dysfunctional atmosphere at the moment. The community is not being heard. It was clear on the 15th that Asa's suggestion to remove version numbers was a bad idea. It was clear at version 5 that the rapid- release cycle as implemented was a bad idea for the community at large. You'll be lucky to find 50% supporting rapid-release, unless it is the select-few who are ALLOWED to stay ON TOPIC, and you MIGHT find 30% supporting removal of the version number once they understand WHY it is happening. So, yes, it is earth-shatteringly important to those who can see the writing on the wall. The fact that those working with Mozilla cannot is even more so. _______________________________________________ support-seamonkey mailing list [email protected] https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
