Hmmm... it's possible that your "Sent" folder is corrupted. Try this:

1. Create a temporary folder. (Just to be sure, do not make this a
"Sent" subfolder -- create it somewhere else).
2. Copy/move all the messages from "Sent" to this temporary folder.
3. Close Seamonkey, go to your profile folder and delete the "Sent."
file from the mail directory.
4. Reopen Seamonkey: the "Sent" folder will be recreated automatically.
5. Test. If normal behavior returned, you may move back your old
messages from the temporary folder. (However, if you have quite a lot of
old messages -- more than a thousand, say -- you might wish to divide
them into smaller folders).
