It looks to me like Stanimir has implemented some kind of patch or
alpha version of SM 2.6a1 to reply to his post with Tb 8.0a2.

In any case, it looks like SM 2.6a1 can properly implement f=f
replies and retain the trailing spaces in the quoted material.

I've applied the patch from Bug 456053 and made a custom SeaMonkey build to see whether it has any effect, and indeed - it appears to do the trick in this case.
