When replying in plain text to an HTML message, I've noticed that
SeaMonkey does some peculiar thing with links. For one, it creates two
links, and for another, it damages one of the copies. As you can see in
the example below, the first copy of each link is sabotaged by the
insertion of extraneous underscores. I normally strip out the bad copy,
but I recently missed my aim and sent only the bad one. Any ideas how to
prevent this?
Also, it seems to ignore the number of quote bars on the left,
converting all to a single quote mark, so it's no longer obvious who
wrote what. I wish it would generate as many quote marks as there were
bars in the original message (plus one, of course).
Here's an example of what I get in the composition window. I've
sanitized my correspondent's name and munged my email address, but other
than that everything's as it appears on my screen. I have not rewrapped,
though that is my usual practice.
