I think the OP's confusion is:
1. Should I start Win 7 in Safe Mode?
2. Or should I start SeaMonkey in Safe Mode?
Two different things with two different outcomes.
Now you are confusing me. ;) Win started is safe-mode? Hm.
Windows can be started in Safe Mode at least since Windows 98, probably
before. Restart Windows. After the POST/BIOS test repeatedly press F8.
You should get an options screen to start Windows normally, or in Safe
Mode, and a variety of options. Totally different than loading Windows
and then starting SM in Safe Mode. Similar name, totally different thing.
What is it you are really suggesting be done?

|It is not unlikely that the error is gone in safe-mode of SM.
If the error is still there in safe-mode, the next step would be trying
a minimal test profile.

Agreed. But the OP needs to know that he should boot Windows normally
and then run SM in Safe Mode.
At least, that seems to be what you're suggesting.

If you have a difficult task, give it to a lazy person; they'll find an
easier way to do it.
