In my experience, you can easily delete any folder by simply selecting
them and pressing "Del," except that there are a few reserved names that
can't be deleted this way: Inbox, Unsent Messages, Drafts, Templates,
Sent, Archives, Junk, Trash. If you can't drag and drop them into the
real Trash, you'll have to close SM and delete them from Windows Explorer.
Getting there now. Honest! I deleted from the OldMail.sbd folder all the
reserved names and related msf files. Two files remain:
-- msgFilterRules.dat
-- popstate.dat
Each contains 1 Kb.
Not knowing what these are, I've hesitated to delete them. Is it o.k. to
do so? And, if they are gone, can I then delete the folder OldMail.sbd?
Then, with all the Verizon mail moved to FairPoint Mail or deleted, can
I then delete the Verizon Mail folder (which still contains all of the
mail that was copied to OldMail.sbd)? (And Verizon-1 Mail, too?)
I know it's been a slow process, educating me every step of the way. A
greatly appreciated learning process for me, and a good clean-up of my
profile, too. Continuing thanks . . .
