To summarize, there is only one profile. All the Mail folders are in

well?

"Only one shows up" -- one account or one folder?

Opening the profile I see, among other files and folders, a Mail folder.
That in turn opens to show three Mail folders, one for my current ISP
mail account, and (now) two for my former ISP mail account. Only one
account shows up in the Account pane, the one for the current ISP.

If I understand you correctly, you have only one ISP and one open account, so it wouldn't make sense to create a "new account" for your now-invalid old accounts with former ISPs.

But it's perfectly reasonable and feasible to drag and drop your old mail messages and folders into the current account and file them as you see fit. Then you can delete the empty mail folders you've left behind, using the "Del" key.

If you have filters that direct incoming mail to the folders you're moving, they will be automatically adjusted to point to the new locations. If you have filters that direct incoming mail to folders you're deleting, SM will prompt you to fix them. The only way I can see incoming messages landing in the Verizon folders is if you have filters sending them there, since the account is closed and you're no longer retrieving mail from that ISP.

In theory, if we were sitting here three years ago planning the transition, I'd tell you to simply modify the Verizon account with the new data, instead of creating a new account. But if there was a period of overlap when both accounts were open, there would've been no way to avoid having two accounts. Otherwise you couldn't retrieve mail from both.
