Hello,
for all "new google pages" (G+ home, Google Calendar, ...)
I have the very same behavior:
- The igoogle home page causes Seamonkey to freeze up for about 5 to 20
- seconds when initially loaded, even when going back to the homepage
- which is igoogle homepage for me. Cannot switch to email or another
- tab, multiple tabs freeze as well (little circles showing loading stop
- animation of turning). Anyone else experience this? Ideas? Suggestions?
This has been happening for the last few Seamonkey Releases, currently I'm
on 2.6.1 on SuSE Linux.
It's probably not related to google, but to the fact that they are doing
some very heavy JavaScript magic there.
On the G+, I notice that it's always the message/event counter ("0" if there
are no notifications) in the top right header bar that is missing. While it
is missing, nothing in seamonkey works, not even changing to another mail in
the mail window. The rest of the system behaves normally (no big load etc)
In normal use, seamonkey comes back after maybe half a minute.
I have had occasions where I'd "saved current tabs" (google among them) but
the tabs never completed loading on the next start. This is easily reproducable.
When I click "Stop" in all tabs and reload them one-by-one, eventually I can
get them back to work.
I wonder how I could provide better debug info. Tried with gdb, but my C times
are long gone, been programming in Java for years now...
Any ideas appreciated...
Cheers, Tom.
Tom, I am unable to assist you, but maybe others might be able to assist
if you could supply the Error Console data.
First, go to Tools->Web Development and select Error Console and select
the "Clear" Button. Then close SeaMonkey, re-start, load your igoole
page (or whatever, then see if there are any messages in the Error
Console, and, if so, quote them so others might be able to advise.
