In the last couple of days I've lost the ability to open a SM browser
window when clicking on a link in an e-mail -- this has happened on
two different computers, which is really odd. Both are running
Windows
XP, SP3.
Is there a common cause or cure for this problem?
I don't THINK this is connected to the 2.7 upgrade...
How about making SM the "default" browser.
Edit> Preferences> Browser> Set Default
I do have it set that way, as it's been forever.
Now though, NO browser window opens at all, even when I click on an
attached file. This is a problem I've never had...
This may sound stupid but many times problems are corrected with a
simple reboot.
Only other things I can think of are to open a new profile and try it.
Or reinstall SM
Before I could try the suggestions provided here, a Windows update
rebooted my office computer overnight (aargh, it's not supposed to do
that!).
This morning a SM window asked if I wanted to restore my previous
session, which was odd because I never leave a session running
overnight. I clicked "yes" and a button then appeared on the taskbar
suggesting a session was running, but it wouldn't expand by
left-clicking on it. So I right-clicked, selected "restore," and there
was a SM browser window with dozens of tabs open, one for each time I
tried to open a link or attachment from SM mail. I had opened and
closed dozens of other SM browser windows over the past few days, but
I guess that one was still running in the background, but not visible
in the taskbar. Odd, but I guess the problem is solved, at least on
this machine!
Hey Bill,
Please "reply"
Don't "reply all" in the future.
Most of us don't want replies in our regular email.
