So, you don't mind having a dossier built on your search habits? Perhaps,
because EU's privacy policies are far stricter than those of the USA (which
I admire)? Here, anyone using Google, Bing, etc is pure fodder for private
companies who spy on you. Just install Ghostery to see a taste of how many
and Ghostery only blocks the tip of the iceberg yet it will find 30 or more
spies on many websites and certainly on Google sites. Google is one of the
worst offenders as far as privacy is concerned. I don't know of any other
company that reads not only all email sent by a GMail user but also reads
all mail sent TO a GMail user and builds a dossier on BOTH parties.

(Facebook is the other worst offender and I have it blocked in my hosts
file). I also do not want Homeland Security spying on me. StartPage does
not record my IP address, the search is SSL and it destroys the results
quickly. It has nothing to do with what, if anything, one has to "hide". It
has to do with freedom and liberty which cannot exist without privacy.

I am assuming that the problem here is just one of oversight and that SM
will fix this so I, and others who were using Scroogle, can now use
StartPage. If the problem regarding the GoDaddy cert that StartPage uses is
also in SM then that will need fixing too but that could be that it is only
in Fx 4.01 that I have and not in current Fx 10.
