If you are reading mail in HTML format, you could change the mail to
Plain Text, and you would see the font and size you've selected in the
program's settings.
From the menu: View> Message Body As> Plain Text
I don't think there is any way to do this automatically to a "certain
set" of mail, i.e. from one or a few people.
Could the sender of email incorporate a MIME type that would make their email always
be shown in Fixed point? What would that look like?
