What exactly is your own definition of "fixed point?"  Is it using a non-
proportional font, like the fixed-width Courier or Courier New, as 
opposed to Arial or Tahoma, which are proportional?

Are these "certain emails" all sent by the same person?  So far, you 
haven't given enough information to understand exactly what you mean.

You could tell your friend to use Courier New in his HTML mail...  :-)
