I've long used Mozilla Mail for my email, and have maintained the
browser as a repository for Bookmarks. I want to shift both the email
and bookmarks to new SeaMonkey (2.8) installations. I found two
discussions of transferring email to SeaMonkey on the Forum, one from
September 2008 and one from October, 2009. From those it looks like I
may be able to transfer the files, manually, to new SM profiles or
directories in a new profile. I see that automated transfer from prior
installs of Moz or SM is impossible after SM 2.0. Can you point me to
a good, current, source for the procedures I need to use to move this
information to the new SM 2.8 installation? Or to additional
discussions which might be useful in developing and using my own
procedures?
The discussions I found are at

Jim, what is wrong with you moving from Mozilla Suite to SeaMonkey 1.1.x
to SM 2.0 and then, finally, to SM 2.8.
I think this would fully cover all file type conversions and get you
up-to-date fairly easily!!
