I do see the exact same behavior here with OpenSuSE 11.4. Java 1.7.0_04 works fine with both, FF12 and FF13 beta, but does not work with SM 2.9.1. I also have the [invalid] section in pluginreg.dat. Java doesn't even show up in the Add-on manager under plugins.
