I accept that developers are perfectly entitled to work on whatever
takes their fancy, but all the while there are real bugs in the
product set I would personally prefer it if more effort could be
diverted to bug fixing and less to cosmetics.
It's not just about cosmetics. It's also about replacing the existing
back-end, including the ancient storage format (Mork) by something more
flexible (probably SQLite, like used for Places-powered bookmarks and
history). This will then make it possible to add address book support to
Sync, among other things.
