Ah, yes! That does appear on the Start page when I fire up SeaMonkey.

There is also a Download Now link on the start page.

I glossed over that in his post, because of my concern that he is running SeaMonkey as root.

I also don't have a "Check for Updates" menu item, because I installed SeaMonkey through my Linux distributions software management system as a user, which requires me to enter my root password before allowing any changes to my system.
