I just installed 2.13 and I'm having some trouble loading some sites.

Another problem.

I tried to use email and 2.13 doesn't seem to remember my old accounts
and is asking me to set up new ones.

Suggestions?

Same thing has happened to me every time but one out of the last half
dozen releases (or more). Big pain, to recover all the various mail
folders and messages after setting up the "new" accounts. Happens
because the regular update fails, and I have to start with a full d/l
using IE (because SM is not usable at that point).

Still don't understand why the new d/l doesn't just pick up my existing
profile.

I had the same problem again installing 2.13.2.

It occurred to me that this may reflect problems with the anti-virus
software I'm running on this machine, Zone Alarm. I'm pretty sure
that SM has had problems with ZA before, although I'm not sure if it
was problems with installation/updates. 2.13.2 installs just find on
a machine that is running another AV code.

Is it possible that the installs go bad because of ZA?

Anyone running ZA and SM and having problems? Anyone running ZA and
SM and not having problems?

TIA.

LR

See my comments immediately above your message. Yes, I have ZA but don't know if it is the problem, since the symptoms of some failures were different. Didn't seem to help much if I turned ZA off before d/l the replacement program via IE.

However, the most recent upgrade (2.13.2) went without a hitch. And, yes, I always make a copy on an external HD before upgrading. That hasn't helped avoid the problem you mention, but it does let me eventually recover lost mail.
