i use peppermintOS linux and have seamonkey set to automagically
upgrade

which updated on 2/8/2013, i shut back down to run in safe mode... but
just realized i don't know how to do that from w/in linux, still sorta
feel like a n00b since i've not yet become familiar where things get
installed :~(
From the SeaMonkey Menu you select Help > Restart with Add-ons
Disabled..., to start SeaMonkey in safe mode.
If you don't get the To: "joesomebody"@domain.com, it is an extension
causing the problem.

something in the start/run menu ... oh well... now only a few of the
e'mail addresses appear w/quotes... which i recollect had to do with
spaces being included before or after the actual addressbook entries...
Sean, I don't know if this is the same as your problem but, for a while
I've noticed that, when I compose an e-mail, some of the names
associated with the e-mail addresses were enclosed with-in double-quotes
e.g."....".
I've meant to ask here for some time (thinking maybe some addresses were
added to the addressbook under Windows and some under Linux....maybe),
but just tonight, I've noted that those which were surrounded by double
quotes included the @ symbol, i.e. "Joe @ Work" compared to Joe at Work
(no quotes).
Don't know if this is your situation as well, Sean, just answering my
own question!!
well Daniel, I've never seen a "Joe@Work" ... yet... mine all appear as
"Joeatwork".com... but the whole problem seems to have been reset/solved
by the single time I opened Seamonkey in safe mode... now I'm just left
with a handful of "joeatworks".com which have thus far contained
trailing spaces in their addressbook entrees... still a mystery to me
how the trailing spaces find their way there... the only commonality
with those particular addressbook entries is they "may have" recently
been sent as BCC...
