Since Mozilla has declared war on Java I would suggest you use chrome
if you want to use Java. I'm getting more frustrated with SeaMonkey
and Fire fox. Jav don't work and they keep messing with JavaScript so
half the websites I go to for JavaScript to work I Have to go to
Chrome for them to work correctly. a simple close window link that
is supposed trigger closing that window simply show a JavaScript()
error
How is this Mozilla's problem?
Some vulnerabilities were discovered in Java, and the Mozilla folks did
their best to protect their users from it, making it possible but
difficult to accept the risk. The correct response to that is "Thank
you, kind sirs!"
The current version 7u13 works fine on my system, even though I've read
on some computer SW websites that it isn't a complete solution to the
issue. Another update is due next week:

I do get prompted when a site wants to install/run a Java applet, but
where's the harm in that? I use Mozilla products because I like being
asked for permission, unlike some other programs that will sleep with
anyone and everyone and not even tell me about it in the morning.
What this has to do with JavaScript I don't know; the only similarity is
in the first four letters of the names.
The only issue I have with JS is that a few webmasters seem to have
written bad code (nhl.com and all its daughters are a prime example)
that takes too long to run. When SM gets tired of waiting, I abort the
script and go on about my business, no harm done.
