Lori, if your Laptop is still working, and you can get SeaMonkey up and
running, have a look at Edit->Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings, and
select "Server Settings" for your e-mail account.
At the bottom of that screen, you should see "Local Directory". Note
that location, quit SeaMonkey and copy all the files and sub-folders in
that location to a USB stick or burn it to a DVD/CD's. This should save
your profile, including e-mail's sent and received.

I'm guessing if you did the same sort of thing in ThunderBird, you would
find same sort of result.
