I have been installing SeaMonkey updates routinely on my Windows XP and Windows 7 systems without any problems. I recently updated to 2.16.1 on both systems and all was okay. I then updated to 2.16.2 on both systems and the update worked fine on the Windows 7 system and bombed on the Windows XP system. I first updated to 2.16.2 and the system would not respond to any clicks I made---e.g. to go to a web site or download/compose/or access my mail. In fact, I could click on any item on the SeaMonkey window and it did nothing...I would then click on a different place on the window and I would then hear a beep and the system would freeze. I restarted my XP system only to have the same thing happen again. I decided to remove (Add/Remove) the software from my system and reinstall the 2.16.1 version back on my system---everything then worked normally. The next step was to update the 2.16.1 to 2.16.2. I made the update and found myself back to the same problem I originally had...all ending with my system freezing. I took the Add/Remove steps several times and it always ended freezing my system. I now have 2.16.1 on that XP system and it seems to be working just fine.

Any ideas why the 2.16.2 update version is causing my system to freeze?

Thanks for anything sent my way on this subject.
