I'm "new" to seamonkey and on the update channel, so here's my "two
cents worth"

It's possible the java add on is not compatible with that version of
seamonkey.
There is a way to check, I think you just click on add ons manager and
look and
it will tell you. or . . . have a look on the mozilla support site
there's a lot of good
information there in the archives if you do a search.
