(who loves Tabs even more than sliced bread)
I love tabs too. But I think sliced bread is slightly more edible.

I prefer to slice my own bread, but I really wish I could open Mail/News
in a Tab instead of a window...and I seem to recall someone saying there
is an existing SM roadmap item to to just that.
There are never enough preferences.
I like tabs in the browser and I don't like the fact that the tab bar
disappears when only one tab is open. There is a pref to force it to
always show the tabs, but it works both in the browser and the mail/news.
I don't want tabs in mail/news except maybe when mail/news would be a
tab in the browser. So there should now at least be 3 prefs: one to
force tabs in the browser, one to do it in te mail, and one to make
mail/news a tab in the browser.
Agreed!
When there are checkmarks for all those things, many users would be
overwhelmed and some types of users just toggle checkmarks semi-randomly
to see what they do. When they don't see an immediate effect they leave
it as is and later are faced with a change they don't know how to undo.
I think that is what the article is about.
...and a big reason why I like the Opera about:config reset to defaults
implementation.
