I'm trying to figure out which folder I put a bookmark in -- any ideas?
1. Visit the bookmarked URL.
This assumes I know it. What if I'm browsing and think, "I remember I
bookmarked that video of Lee Hi singing '1.2.3.4,' where could it be?"
If I don't know the URL, I can't visit it, and if I can't find the
bookmark -- well after all, that's the purpose of a bookmark, eh?
2. There should be a bookmark icon on the right side of the Location
bar. Click on it to edit the bookmark.
3. The 'Edit Bookmark' panel should appear. To the right, after the
Folder drop-down menu, there should be a separate arrow. Click on that
arrow.
That should expand the folder tree, and show you which folder the
bookmark is in.
Also remember that you can search this newsgroup for past questions that
are the same as yours. ;)
I do know how to edit a bookmark once I find it. The essential question
was, "where the heck did I put that thing???"
See also the workaround I described earlier today.
I wish the Bookmarks Manager linked to the "Edit Bookmark" function. I
can modify its properties (name, description, URL), but I can't see the
bookmark's location in my folder tree.
If you don't know how to search for a bookmark, there are a few ways:
* Just type the name of the bookmark in the location bar, and the
bookmark should appear in the dropdown list.
* Go to Bookmarks-->Manage_Bookmarks. The Bookmarks Manager will open,
and have a "Search Bookmarks" field in the top-right corner.
* Open the sidebar, and use the search field there.
Those methods may not tell you which folder the bookmark is in, but they
will enable you to visit the bookmark. From that point on, you can
follow steps 2 and 3 from my previous post.
