First of all, thanks to at least two fellow MS users for their help in
transferring SM stuff from an old XP svc pak3 PC to a new PC with
Windows 7.
Here's A SOLUTION as to what I did:
1. I added a folder named "SM profiles" to a 32GB flash drive plugged
into the old PC.
2. On the old PC, highlighted the names of the 4 profiles as shown in
the Profile Manager list I had IN TURN and wrote down the location of
where each profile was located and
IN TURN went to their respective locations and copied each profile onto
the flash drive. (with all four profiles I had about 15.1 GB of "stuff")
3. On the new PC, plugged in the 32 GB flash drive.
4 For the first user, use the profile manager to create the same user
name on the new PC.
5. When the profile user name asked for the location of the account
folder, I switched to the flash drive SM profile and click on: "select
folder" and
that got the first original profile copied onto the new PC.
6. Repeated the above for each of the remaining user names.
7. Checked each on the new PC and the transfer showed that the emails,
address books, etc. were all in place on the new PC. I was "amazed" at
the scope of the contents of each profile!!
Hope the above is useful for any other SM user in the same situation
that I was in.
