You have indeed uncovered the discovery that sparked my curiosity as to the definition of Session. Chris Ilias gave the final answer. A session ends, when you Quit the whole program. I typically never shut off the machine, and only Quit SM when some junk-code-awful web site has made it feel sick, and still have cookies from sites I don't remember.
