I can confirm the problem in SM 2.17.1; I just encountered it. I can delete 
columns but not rows. Reinstalling the software didn't fix the problem, so this 
looks like a bug that needs to be fixed. Is there an older "unbroken" version 
of SeaMonkey available somewhere that I can switch to until this issue is 
fixed? Kind of critical for me -- I update a web site I'm responsible for 
maintaining such that once a month a table with key data on the home page gets 
repopulated (so the bug was introduced in updates in the past month). And the 
time for my next update is here.
