I think anyone making Web pages who doesn't know how to write HTML and CSS "by hand" has far greater issues. But, no, FTP is as basic as HTTP. So, if you're going to delve into the realm, learn the basics instead of relying on marginal and iffy tools. Or, learn to live with the shortcomings.
