See my post in mozilla.general titled "Amazing change in viewing sites". It is amazing what a little display adjustment can do for your browsing experience.
Not all, but a lot of those sites you think are designed with light-colored fonts, on white or light backgrounds, are actually black fonts on darker backgrounds.
