Is it true that SeaMonkey does not support multi-touch on OS X (stuff like
pinch-to-zoom)? If so, are there plans to support it?

Long story short, I'm trying out SeaMonkey because my primary browser has
officially become defunct, and so far this is the only feature that seems to be
missing.

(Sorry if this is a commonly-asked question---I couldn't find anything in a
search of this group or the Help topics.)

I do not understand why this is a problem...

The software itself shouldn't be the culprit, should it? Shouldn't it be an OS problem?

The OS 'reads' the input from the keyboard/trackpad/touchscreen and passes it onto the software...

I highly doubt anyone in the SM team bothered to tailor code for my specific Logitech keyboard's touchpad. So why would all my multi-touch gestures work on my Windows7 setup with this keyboard/pad and not under OSX? I assume it is my *driver* that makes it work.

Under OSX, would it not likewise fall under the OS developer's responsibilities? Or the hardware manufacturer software division?

I didn't have to configure anything to make my touch gestures work in SM... but other hardware may have a setting in the driver to substitute gestures for commands...

I just don't see how SM would need to be tailored for multi-touch... seems to be an OS-driven thing, not each specific program you run...!

(The OS should interpret the pinch as the equivalent keyboard command for compatibility with older software, should it not????)
