I seem to be having some sort of problem since I installed what I think is the
latest version of shockwave. I get a large number of windows asking me if I
want to stop a script and very often clicking once is not enough.
I also got this today from weather.com,
"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can
stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
Script:
http://js.moatads.com/weather6943544254/moatad.js#moatClientLevel1=16950737&moatClientLevel2=96588377&moatClientLevel3=57859937&moatClientLevel4=14744991857&moatClientSlicer1=25572857&moatClientSlicer2=25640417:35"
Now when Shockwave crashes it asks me if I want to reload the page instead of
sending them a message.
I'm running winxp pro sp3
User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0
SeaMonkey/2.19
Build identifier: 20130630011339

Version: 11.8.800.94

Shockwave Flash 11.8 r800
TIA for any suggestions or help.

The last stable version of Flash was version 11.2. Every version since
is known to be unstable. Adobe still doesn't seem to be able to get it
right even after all these months of effort.
My personal solution to the situation was to install the newest *stable*
version I could find and turn off Updates. I'm using Flash version
10.3.183.86 (it plays everything very well) because v11 was not
available at the time although it is now.
There is no law stating that you *MUST* run the latest version of any
software; the Cyber Cops will not banish you from the Internet although
some individuals may try to shame you or hold you in derision.
If you keep anti-virus/malware definitions current you should be able to
use any version of anything else that works for you.
Several archived versions of Flash are here:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
Find one you like and keep it somewhere safe against the day you have to
reinstall.
Oh, by the way, be sure to turn off Updates.
