Something very very weird has just happened on this machine. Linux, SM
2.19 x64 (I think, not being able to see is part of the problem).
Symptom 1. Bookmarks no longer work. If I hover over one in the
"bookmarks" tab, the display at the bottom shows the link I want but I
can't click on it (the bookmark). The only way I can open something is
by typing the link into the box at the top, at least auto-completion
works. Selecting "About Seamonkey" no longer has any effect.
Symptom 2. No Tabs. The tab bar is gone and right-clicking on a link
offers the possibilities to open in a new tab, a new window or a new
private window but only the "new window" options work.
My "Tabbed Browsing" options are:
- Tab Display - all clear
- When opening a bookmark group - I have just tried both variations
- Open tabs instead of windows - I have selected both.
I was browsing normally but had a CPU problem (100% load) and closed the
SM tabs on at a time, then closed the mail client. The problem turned
out to be another program altogether but Seamonkey is now indisposed,
even after a reboot.
I applied 4 updates while browsing:
- libxml2
- python-libxml2
- libxml2-tools
- transcode (whatever that is).
Firefox (the newest level) is unaffected. I think I am going to try
exporting my SM profile into FF until this gets resolved.
wtf?
