Indeed. After the fact, I realized that FF users benefit from such notifications as download completions, etc. I do, however, think that the primary benefits are found in SeaMonkey and Thunderbird.
and that's how the the OP /was/ using it until something broke in SM 2.19
Not really broken, but they removed one notification system and replaced it with something less functional.
