Don't know about you, but I have a record in my Thunderbird password 
manager for each of my fifteen email accounts, and for each of three news 
servers. And I don't use the same word for every account.

No, it's not, but is still used for important passwords. Why argue the 
point?

By the way, in my *browsers* I never allow them to store passwords for the 
sites that require them. I type it (them) each time I want to log in at, 
say, my bank site, my web hosts, etc. I also use multiple browsers, so why 
maintain multiple password managers?
