In what SM version could we expect the solution ?
I cannot help but feel that a far more apposite question is
"by which future SM version can we expect that full regression
testing will become a normal part of the development cycle
and therefore be performed before a new version is released ?".

Given the volunteer nature of the project I'm guessing the answer will
be: "When YOU volunteer to do it."
And, no, I'm not trying to be a wise-ass here. I've bitched about stuff
here for years but years ago I finally realized the true nature of this
grand experiment. You can bitch about it if you like but it isn't gonna
change anything.
And it may be wise to note, in the interests of sanity, that as much as
we all bitch we're all still here and we're all still using the software
others freely give of their time to develop.
Perfect situation? Nope. But, what is?
Ahh, apropos of this I just noticed (which I seldom do) my automagically
inserted sig line below. :-)
