The regression testing of which I was speaking, Daniel, is the
regression testing that forms a normal part of software
development /before/ it is offered to a user community.
It is conducted by the developers, to ensure that the software
they are preparing to offer represents, if not an advance on
previous versions, then at least not a retrograde step.  Of
course, such regression testing takes time, which would have
the additional benefit that we might enjoy a greater period
of stability between releases.
