No, Synaptic will only allow you to select packages provided by Ubuntu
or other APT repositories you might have added. As far as I know, recent
SeaMonkey versions are not available from official Ubuntu repositories.

I am using Ubuntuzilla here, it provides a repository of current builds.

updates of Seamonkey when they become available ;~)

I find most distros don't package chemspill fixes, and that is why I install all manually from Mozilla. I want the latest stability and security fixes.
