closed the calling programs sit and wait. Have to be closed with
Task Manager.
Other problem is with the icons for SM in the Windows 7 Task bar. If
you close the SM window from the Task Bar, the window is not closed. It
is cleared of all information only and remains open.

I, too, have the same challenges with emailing files. My work around is
opening SM email client and attaching the file, for now.
