Ed, since about Ver 2.1, bookmarks are not stored in bookmarks.html,
they are store, with other stuff, in a file called places.sql or some
such, and you cannot just look at this file to see your bookmarks. If
you want to be able see your bookmarks in the bookmarks.html, you need
to change one of the prefs in about:config, but I don't remember which
pref.
Do you see your bookmarks when you look at the Bookmarks drop down??
The setting to change in about:config is
browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML. Change this from False to True.
