Beta 2 on Mac is far worse.

After install and restart received a nice notice Application
Corrupt or
Missing Component.
In going to applications. and Looking application icon showed dimmed
with a diagonal line.

Had to open FireFox (pre-Australis version) got Mozilla Look up the 25
Beta to put me back to square one.

Oh for the developers that that read this forum.

Mac is based on BSD UNIX not Linux. They they may be third cousins but
there are enough differences to cause problems.

I've reported the problem on Bugzilla.

I think I will have to wait to Beta 27 comes out before trying again.

It seems to me that the obvious answer is to use stable, mainstream
releases. Moreover, you'd get a lot more mileage out of posting to the
dev newsgroup rather than the user support-oriented one (here).
Problems
with betas don't apply to the vast majority of us.

Bugs in betas can persist into releases. That was the case with the
bookmarks toolbar bug in Firefox. It first appeared in the beta (or
maybe even alpha) version of FF 3.0 and persisted through that entire
version branch and into the entire version 3.5 branch.

Of course, bugs can persist; otherwise, all our stable releases would be
bug-free. My point was simply that the dev newsgroup is assuredly a
better place to report dev issues to devs.

I reported to that group and it appears dead.

Don't know about you guys but here it is the Easter long week-end!

Maybe the devs are all on a well deserver holiday.
