I was able to reproduce that behaviour. We'll call this one the Hotel
California Bug: You can check in any time you like, but you can never
leave (the Sidebar). ;-)
It looks like this old bug has been since 11/22/2010:

and subscribed. It will probably never be fixed. :(
Does anyone know if it is possible to disable that sidebar feature? I
never use it.
