OK, wtf.

Why, when I am composing a mail message, do the letters appear in
one
font....

but when I look in the Sent Folder, (to make sure I typed
everything I
meant to) I notice that the letters are all in a different font?

No clue on Font names, just they are different

News posts too....looking at this one right now

Hey, Geoff, I would have thought that, somewhere in the message, it
would say what font was used in the message composition, but,
looking at
both of your posts, the nearest I can see is ....

Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8; format=flowed

but no mention of font style what so ever!! Sure, if I then had
selected
that I wanted to ignore the original font and use my own preferred
font,
it would ignore the OP Font, but I cannot see the OP font set
anywhere!!

I wonder how it managers to know what font to use!!

Edit - Preferences - Appearance - Fonts.

Yeah, that's were I can set things up for my system .... but where
do I,
or Geoff, set fonts up for e-mail composition??

Edit -> Preferences -> Mail & Newsgroups -> Composition.

That was tough, wasn't it?

What if the user wants a specific plain text font for composition?

All I see there is 'Defaults for HTML Messages'.

Edit - Preferences - Appearance - Fonts - Monospace

Composition? Not Appearance.

In plaintext there is no font specified in the message itself.
So what you can set is only how plaintext appears, not what font is
used in plaintext messages.

I knew that. Thanks for confirming. :)

We still haven't figured out why Geoff has different fonts when
Composing, and viewing them in his Sent folder.

I don't see that problem in my SeaMonkey 2.26, but I'm on Linux and he
is on a Mac.

I'm also on a Mac and everything here is peachy. No weird font differences depending on context.
