I have the same problem in Pale Moon, and googling it shows that a LOT of people are having issues like that lately.
My bookmark for google translate is http, yet every time I try to translate a website the translation gets opened as https. Changing the url to http works ... most of the time. It's high time google fixed that error - or maybe they're just trying to get people to switch to Chrome?
