Did not help. The issue is back. What to do now? There is only one user

I could fix the backout issue and get my monospace back. Or i could just
wait, use 'Allow documents to use other fonts' and endure the impact on
the browser. Hm.

Heh! I already used 'Allow documents to use other fonts', so my
monospace works okay.
I can't say I've noticed any adverse impact on the browser, by doing so.
