Yes, except the intended word was "plugins".  The whole paragraph should
read (with some expansion) --

There persists significant confusion caused by the Mozilla developers,
who have lumped plugins and extensions under the single term "add-on".
Plugins are executables that are installed via your operating system
(in your case, Windows) independently of what browser you are using;
while your browser might use plugins, plugins are not really dependent
on your browser.  Extensions are modifications to existing browsers or
E-mail applications that are installed specifically for such
applications; extensions are entirely dependent on your browser or
E-mail application.

Plugins and extensions do not function alike.  They are not installed
alike.  They are not alike.  They should never have been lumped together
as add-ons.
