So you'd have to be careful not to reveal the menubar when leaving full screen mode.

and then how to recover the menubar ?

When you have an autohide menubar it reveals itself when you press F10 or Alt+access key (or just Alt on its own on Windows). So you can just press Alt+V, W, M.
